Sustainable Agriculture & Livestock Management

Our Agri-Business program at Gika Farm is the heartbeat of our vocational training. We move beyond basic farming to teach the “Business of Agriculture.” From aquaculture and livestock management to high-value crop production, we equip our students with the technical and financial skills to run their own successful farms.

Core Training Areas:

Aquaculture: Modern fish farming techniques and pond management.

Livestock Management: Professional care and breeding for sustainable income.

Agri-Entrepreneurship: Financial tracking, market research, and value-addition.

Why This Matters

Through Gika Farm, Elohim Development Association is turning a new page in how we serve our community. We believe that practical, market-ready skills are the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and supporting successful family resettlement.

By equipping our youth with modern techniques in aquaculture and sustainable agriculture, we are addressing the root causes of unemployment and food insecurity. This transition from institutional care to vocational empowerment creates a ripple effect—improving household incomes, protecting our environment through innovation, and ensuring that the next generation has the tools to build a self-reliant future under the Elohim umbrella.

At Gika Farm, we specialize in intensive fish farming systems. This program trains youth in pond construction, water quality management, and sustainable feeding practices for Tilapia and Catfish. Our goal is to equip students with the technical skills to tap into the growing blue economy while ensuring environmental conservation.

This program empowers young women and men through the art of creative tailoring and textile design. (The Story & Core Pillars)
For many young people, the path to healthcare is blocked by fear and a lack of privacy. We believe health services should be a safe harbor, not a hurdle. Our program transforms the landscape of reproductive health by ensuring young women and men have the tools to thrive.

Our Three Core Pillars:

Youth-Friendly Services: Advocating for clinics that prioritize confidentiality, respect, and care without stigma.

Education & Empowerment: Providing the knowledge to understand rights and make informed decisions about one’s body and life.

A Strategy Against HIV/AIDS: A committed effort to end the epidemic by integrating prevention and testing into the heart of our community.

Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR)

Empowering the next generation to take charge of their health, their bodies, and their futures through safe and informed care.

Youth Voice, Leadership & Advocacy

Moving youth from the sidelines to the center of decision-making as the primary agents of change.

Our Advocacy Pillars:

Amplifying Voices: Providing the platforms and tools for youth to influence the policies that directly affect their lives.

Rights-Based Advocacy: Fostering deep discussions on human rights to empower youth to challenge the status quo.

Adult-Youth Partnerships: Facilitating a unique model where generations work side-by-side to co-create solutions for the Bombo community.
